The X1‑R is a passive ribbon microphone that combines a hand-tensioned 2.5 µm aluminum ribbon element with a figure‑eight polar pattern. Designed with neodymium magnets and durable, mic-body mechanical enhancements, it delivers the smooth, natural tonal qualities of classic ribbons, yet supports up to 135 dB SPL—making it well-suited for guitar amps, drum overheads, brass instruments, or even voice-over work.

Extended Frequency Response & Higher Output

Unlike many traditional ribbons, the X1‑R offers an extended frequency response from 20 Hz to 16 kHz ±1 dB, providing a touch of high-end lift and modern clarity without harshness. Its sensitivity (~–55 dB / 1.78 mV/Pa) gives it noticeably stronger output than vintage ribbon mics, reducing the need for extreme preamp gain and making it more accessible for standard mic chains.
